Loopden Community Guidelines

Last updated: May 19, 2026

The TL;DR

Loopden Community is a hub for Charleston-area musicians, engineers, educators, and music makers to find each other. Be the bandmate, teacher, student, collaborator, or sub-gig contact you'd want to find on here. Don't be a jerk. Don't spam. Help each other make music.

That's basically it. Below is the long version for when it matters.

What this place is for

  • Finding and being found by other musicians, engineers, educators, and producers in the Charleston area.

  • Connecting with potential bandmates, students, teachers, sub players, and collaborators.

  • Building band profiles that show what you do and who's in your group.

  • Listing your skills, instruments, genres, and availability honestly.

  • Sending one-on-one messages to introduce yourself or follow up.

What this place isn't for

  • Promotional spam, cold sales pitches, MLM recruiting, or unrelated services.

  • Self-promotion outside the spirit of community connection (a "check out my band" message is fine; mass-broadcasting your shows is not).

  • Hookup app-style behavior or any kind of romantic/sexual solicitation.

  • Selling, swapping, or distributing pirated music, gear, software, or content.

  • Recruiting users into off-platform schemes, financial requests, or "opportunities" that smell off.

Be respectful

  • Speak to people the way you'd speak to someone at a gig — even if you disagree with them.

  • No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or targeted attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.

  • No threats of violence. Ever.

  • Disagreements happen. Keep them constructive or take them to DM if the public thread isn't going anywhere good.

Be honest

  • Use your real name, or a stage name you actually use professionally.

  • Don't impersonate other musicians, bands, or businesses.

  • Don't claim credits, gigs, or skills that aren't yours.

  • If you're not actually available for what your profile says, update your profile.

Photos

  • Use photos that are yours (your photo, your band's photo, or a photo you have permission to use).

  • Keep them appropriate — no nudity, no explicit content. This is a public-facing professional community.

  • Default avatars are fine if you don't have a good photo yet.

Messaging other users

  • The hidden-email message feature is for sincere, one-to-one outreach.

  • Don't send the same template message to a list of people. We'll catch it.

  • If someone doesn't reply, take the hint. Don't double-tap or escalate.

  • If someone makes you uncomfortable, block them or report them to info@loopdenmusic.com.

Band profiles

  • The person who creates a band profile is the Band Manager for that band. They can edit info, invite members, and remove members.

  • Only one Band Manager per band. (For now.)

  • Manager invites should go to people who actually agreed to be in the band.

  • If you're invited and you don't want to be in the band, just don't accept (or leave after joining — there's a Leave button).

  • Don't create fake bands or use the band feature for non-band purposes.

What we'll do if you break the rules

Depending on severity:

  1. Friendly nudge — a heads-up message or profile edit suggestion.

  2. Content removal — we take down the offending photo, text, or message.

  3. Temporary suspension — your account is paused.

  4. Permanent ban — your account and content are removed.

We try to be reasonable. Repeated or egregious violations skip steps.

Reporting

If you see something off — a creep, a scam, a fake profile, content that doesn't belong — email info@loopdenmusic.com with:

  • The username or band name involved

  • A screenshot if possible

  • A short description of what's wrong

We read every report. Thanks for helping keep the place sane.

A note on what we are and aren't

Loopden Community is a connection platform. We don't:

  • Vet users beyond basic signup

  • Verify professional credentials

  • Mediate disputes between users about gigs, money, or band drama

  • Provide legal contracts or business advice

Before working professionally with anyone you meet here, do your own due diligence: ask for references, listen to their work, meet in person, sign written agreements where money is involved. Loopden makes introductions — what you build from there is on you.

Changes to these guidelines

We'll update these as the community grows and as we learn what works. When we do, we'll bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in a profile-level notice when you next log in.
