ALEX WOLF
Loopden Music, LLC, founder
Known simply as Wolf—a name that stuck thanks to the many Alexes in his life, from coworkers and bandmates to a cousin—Alex Wolf has built a multifaceted career rooted in music, creativity, and education. With over 40 years of experience as a musician, educator, and audio engineer, Wolf has toured with bands, produced albums, and collaborated with numerous artists through his long-running home studio, Mooncycle Studios.
While living in Atlanta, he also created Underneath—a speakeasy-inspired performance space in the basement of his home and an extension of Mooncycle Studios—that hosted more than 50 sold-out shows and provided recording opportunities for the performers who graced its stage.
Wolf’s background extends beyond the studio. He served as senior vice president of real estate for Wolf Camera, the company founded by his father, Chuck Wolf, and later worked as a computer technician for Decision Digital, managing networks of up to 300 seats. His technical expertise led him to launch his own IT firm, MooncycleIT, which he operated successfully before returning full-time to music and education. He also spent time in New York City working at Gigantic Studios, further honing his engineering and production skills.
In Atlanta, Wolf and his wife founded Tallulah Montessori, an independent school that thrived for 12 years until the COVID-19 pandemic. That experience shaped his educational philosophy and deepened his commitment to student-led learning. After Tallulah closed, Wolf relocated to Charleston to accept a position as Director of Operations and Music Instructor at Charles Towne Montessori in West Ashley.
Loopden Music, the evolution of his earlier concept Wolf Music Centre, represents the culmination of all these experiences—a space where education, recording, and creativity come together under one roof. Guided by Wolf’s belief that music is both a personal journey and a shared experience, Loopden is designed to help students and artists of all ages explore, create, and connect through the art of making music.
